Hytech was selected and contracted to assist the Nooksack Valley School district with an ongoing water infiltration issue at their Performing Arts Center at the High School Campus.
The project was designed and managed by Nooksack School District, CSG, and Zervas Architects. Hytech sealed the old porous masonry surface with a new high performance weather resistive barrier system (WRB) by Vaproshield called WrapShield SA. This creates the initial drainage plane behind the siding assembly that allows any moisture or vapor behind the siding to effectively drain out and not into the building.
Then vented hat channels were mounted over the WRB and into the masonry beneath, creating a ¾” airspace called a rainscreen. Hytech then installed a 24 g. architectural metal siding system, in a new beautiful dark bronze kynar finish, along with all the necessary integral trims to complete the transformation
